This weekend the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra is recording all performances of John Corigliano's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra ("The Red Violin") with Joshua Bell and Marin Alsop. The composition is well-written, the conductor is fabulous and the soloist is phenomenal. Look for more details about this exceptional CD.

Baltimore Symphony Orchestra performance

Playing 2nd flute in the BSO is quite amazing. My first concert (Sept 22) included Dvorak's New World Symphony . Countless solos keep the piece more than exciting and the orchestra was phenomenal! The BSO is performing Dvorak in Spain, Italy, Slovenia, and Austria at the end of October on our European tour.

Saturday - performed Bach's Musical Offering on an ANALOG concert. Alongside the flute, violin, harpsichord trio were performances by a brass quintet, marimba ensemble, organ soloist and electronic music version - ALL at the same time in acoustically diverse spaces in First Central Church's 150-year old building. Unfortunately I didn't hear the other versions of the Musical Offering, but I had a fabulous time nonetheless performing the trio version with symphony members Chris Hake, violin and Marilyn Kielniartz, harpsichord. Look for an mp3 of the trio sonata in the near future...M3K
